Ah, Issue 6.1—our 21st issue. And like anyone turning 21, we’re having a hard time remembering exactly what went into our 21st. Hmm, let’s see…we know Anna Gasser is on the cover. Of course. Who could forget an air like that. What else do we have? Oh Blake Moller has the feature interview. Rumor has it he talked about everything from skydiving to the Olympics and even how it felt to hit some big mountain lines in Alaska.
Okay, it’s all starting to come back to us. We remember now that Bob Plumb has a new column, “Tricks of the Trade,” where up and coming photogs can learn a few pro tips from one of the best.
“Cry-Bécois,” the Crybaby crew’s article from a trip to Montreal is a classic travel story with an epic crew. Nobody said jibing in the cold of French-Canada was easy, but someone’s gotta do it.
Where were we…? Oh, that’s right, there’s one more feature: “Welcome to the big Leagues—The new Economy of Contests.” In this piece, we dive into what the changing landscape of snowboard contests mean for the boarders, viewers, and potentially snowboarding as a whole. Snowboard leagues are becoming more common these days and snowboarding is starting to look like a…sport?
And of course we have our recurring segments: Snapped, On Location, Run-in, Up-Next, and so much more. We may be racking our brain, recovering from 21 issues of uninterrupted snowboarding, but frankly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
